Week 13 & 14

Week 13 & 14 has arrived and I am feeling homesick as ever. We are getting closer and closer to the end of study abroad, and it's a bittersweet feeling. Over the next two weeks, I will travel to Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri, and Milan.

Starting in week 1, we went on a school trip to Pompeii, Sorrento, and Capri. In Pompeii, we learned a lot about Pompeii's rich history and got to explore the old and new Pompeii. I also bought a Tung Tung Tung Sahur balloon and carried it all over Pompeii with me until we got back to Florence. Fun fact: the balloon ended up on our fridge in Florence!

The trip to Pompeii, Capri, and Sorrento were really fun and it was nice to have tour guides with us and go with students from UH Manoa. I was able to just relax, eat, and sleep on this trip.

Now moving onto the next week, this is where I go to Milan. This trip was a bit spontaneous for me and I actually booked it really last minute. There is an artist names Miguel who was going on tour and I really wanted to go to his concert in Milan so I decided to just book the tickets and go.

I was in Milan for 2 1/2 days and decided to explore the Chinatown in Milan. I honestly wasn't expecting anything super fancy from the Chinatown in Milan because the Chinatown back home in Hawaii is a bit run down and feels unsafe at times, but this Chinatown exceeded my expectations. It was really nice and so many kids were just freely walking around. I ended up buying little stationery in the stores and trying a few food places. Pictured is Chichi Dango, fried bread with cream and strawberries, and dumplings.

Milan was so beautiful and there were so many good food places. I wish I had stayed there a bit longer, but I didn't know I would have loved it as much as I did.

I know you're probably wondering how the Miguel concert went and I would like to say it was fun, but I guess I didn't research enough of what his setlist was going to be so I didn't know some of the newer songs he sang. I was still glad I went and got to experience hearing songs I like live. Overall, these two weeks were really fun for me.
