As I slowly find my way around Florence the next few weeks, I find myself piecing small details together. I was able to find my way back to the apartments without using a map, found some Asian grocery stores, and figured out which had the best prices. Not long after settling in, I took a few trips to Rome, Bologna, Vienna, and Budapest.
Rome, Italy:

Trevi Fountain

Colosseum

Maritozzi
In my opinion, I thought Rome felt overhyped by the internet. It is very beautiful, but I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. Although I did get unlucky and went on a weekend that was pouring rain, it was really cold and difficult to go anywhere. Rome is very beautiful, but also a lot bigger than Florence, so I wasn't really prepared for all the walking I had to do. Something I did do in Rome that I thought was cool was go to this big market ( it was really long) and I found this Brandy Melville 10 euro booth, which was really cool.
Bologna, Italy:

I took a bus from Florence to Bologna and had a few hours there with my friend Mikela and we went exploring around the city. Something I noticed in Bologna is that they really like the color orange. I also tried lasagna there and realized that I am not a fan of Lasagna. We also visited the Finestrella di Via Piella window, but it was dry and had no water.
Vienna, Austria:
Our initial flight from Bologna to Vienna got cancelled due to a snow storm so we ended up having to waste a night at our hostel in Vienna and booking a trip from Bologna to Pisa airport (on a bus) which costed more money. From Pisa airport, we flew into Budapest and took a bus back to Vienna because we still wanted to see Vienna and we also had a scheduled bus to go to Budapest from Vienna already paid for. We only had about 4-5 hours in Vienna. I know it sounds super complicated and it actually was. We spent many hours waiting and going from transportation to transportation, but it was well worth it in the end.
When we got to Vienna, it wasn't snowing anymore, but there was still left over snow from the previous day which made it extremely cold. I also got to try Wiener schnitzel for the first time and I would just like to say that it wasn't for me... I thought Vienna was extremely beautiful and wished I was able to have more time there. I would 100% go back to Vienna and explore more of the city if I had the chance to.
Budapest, Hungary:

When we got to Budapest, we stayed in a hostel and the room I was in had 12 people. Lets just say the room wasn't very pleasant, but I was only there to sleep for two nights so it wasn't the end of the world. I also met some really nice people studying abroad in the hostel from Paris. I tried a chimney cake for the first time and wasn't the biggest fan of it. I thought Budapest was really beautiful and the transportation there was really accessible and easy to use.
Overall, my trips had some complications here and there, but I still had a great time and loved exploring new places. Also, you can see by now that I still haven't had the best luck with finding foods I enjoy. Luckily, I still have a few more months to try new things. Until next time, Ciao!
